The Smart Text Engine (STE) refers to the automatic modification of user entered text for quicker text input. On a mobile device, a user is more likely to make spelling mistakes, forgo punctuations, capitalization, and use more abbreviations. Accordingly, the STE performs auto-captilization and auto-replacement. The STE is enabled in all text fields by default, except for password fields.
